How far should the neutral flame be above the cutting surface when using Mapp?I have seen people cut just above the surface (same as acetylene) and I have been told (never seen it done) that the flame should be about 1.25" above the surface (considerably higher than acetylene).
Reply:I cut with Mapp and other fuel gases at about the same as acetylene, but you can raise it some, because of the secondary BTU's in fuel; gases. JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases. There all here. : |
