Filler rod and gas prices

Curios what do you all pay for your tig rod and argon? I just bought one lb of er70s2 x 36" and it was 10.18$. I was looking online and I saw that for like 2.50 a lb. I'm all for supporting local but at 4x the price??? 100 cu argon was 60$. I wanted alum filler but it was near 20$ a lb. Reply:I pay around the same for argon..The argon is what kills me personally, the rod seems to last quite a while..I bought 1 lb of 70s2 about a year ago and am only now getting to the end of it..But I have been through maybe 4 or 5 bottles of argon in that time..This is Just light home shop/personal welding projects

Reply:If you buy any type of filler metal in the smallest possible quantity, they are going to sock it to ya (not just local, anybody).  The last time I bought any was 10lbs of 1/8" s2 and it was less than $40 shipped to my door from Indiana Oxygen.

Reply:I just got it from ebay since I.O. sells a lot of stuff on there.  It was $36.80/box, shipped.  Price is slightly higher for smaller diameter wire.  Just do a search for "tig wire" and you'll get a couple pages of stuff to look at.

Reply:It was praxair. But dang thats less than half for the gas.. Where are you getting these deals on everything? Reply:Airmix wants $58 for a S cylinder of Argon  and the T cylinder, steelmix for my mig runs $78.
