Reply:I do that. It makes me wonder why all that crap was in there to start with. Then about a week later I have a need for exactly what i got rid of that I had not used in 5 years. Now I have to go pay for a brand new whatchamacallit and it makes me so mad.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain

Reply:I have the same problem.  Stuff just seems to accumulate.  Once or twice a year I get rid of a bunch of stuff... but new stuff always shows up to take it's place. Reply:I'm probably the world's worst for saving every little piece of leftover angle and square tube. My welding table would probably weigh 300 lbs less if I cleaned out the shelf under the top. Every time I clean that shelf out I tell myself "OK, this is going to scrap and next week you'll be needing it for another project!!!". I guess I'm dam-ed if I do and dam-ed if I don't.                                 MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw

Reply:Is it bad when you go to the scrap yard and come back with more stuff than you took to begin with? .No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:I am truly sick.I keep lots of bits of stuff, too. Steel, wood, whatever. I mostly know what I've got and where it is. Lots of stuff I've had for years.Sometimes the time will come when I'll need something.I get that thrill of saying to myself, 'Hey, I've got the perfect piece.'Then I go and pull it out.And I stand there with it and say to myself, 'Should I use this now, or should I save it and go and buy a piece.'How dopey is that.Yeah, I carry.House keys, wallet, some change, usually a newspaper, maybe a pen.

Reply:There's something about "late September" that a man can feel in his bones, tells him there's thing he's got to take care of before winter sets in.  Late September   Aint that what got Maggie May kicked to the curb? Looks good Samm. I kicked off a major clean-up too. Maybe I'll join-up with your thread. Here's one for everyone who's ever needed something just after tossing it: In the bad old days, before caller ID and mobile phones, we used to pull the dirty trick of telephoning a neighbor, (the world's greatest pack-rat) and asking for a certain item...  just after we had seen the long-saved item leave his place on the scrap truck. That was rotten. Poor guy, we probably gave him fits.

Reply:I saw a mess 6 months ago you folks would not believe.  It was the dirtiest place ever, it was nearly as bad as a garbage dump.  I was a little lost on where I was going, maybe I will sneak back over there some time soon and snap a few shots for sng.Miller 330 a/bp water cooledI believe in gun control, I hold my gun with two hands.  If you want to know why, click here.Buy American or bye America.
Reply:Samm, Princept (spelling?) is a fairly cheap and easily available pre-emergent herbicide.  Kill what's there, scrape it down to bare earth, then pour the princept on,,,,,    you can actually sterilize that amount of  ground for five years, with about $10.00 worth.   I think the patent's expired on this one, everybody else is making it now also, different names for it.   And there may be better pre-emergents, in your area for your uses.
