Hello all,, I just picked up a  Airco dc 150 heliwelder with the tig gun and it does strike an arc but the button on the gun is not hooked up  there are just 2  bare wires comming through the leads there is  2 connectors on the front of the machine one says contactor and the other says current  the contactor has a 2 pin plug that hooks to the front of the machine and has a 2 foot pig tail with a old style 2 wire female extension cord end  on it ??? this doesnt' seem right to me so I guess my main question would be does anyone know where I could find an operators manual for this unit  Any info would be greatly appreciated THANKS Attached Images
Reply:Hi.  I don't know if you are still searching, but I have the same Airco unit.  I use mine strictly for stick welding, though I've considered at times getting a tig torch.  I do know that the "modified" plug you have in place for the contactor must have been adapted to replace the original amphenol 2 prong female connector on the welder.  It would look like the current plug; only with two holes instead of three.I do have the basic operators manual and an early sales piece for the welder, that I could scan for you if needed.  FWIW, I'm guessing that someone made an adaptor for a a torch for that unit. The tig torch on that unit connects as follows: (this info. taken directly from the manual)"a) TIG Welding (GTAW)Connect the gas hose at the rear of the machine to the gas source regulator.  Connect the TIG torch gas hose to the gas outlet fitting on the front of the machine.  Connect the TIG torch power cable to the terminal marked (-) on the font of the machine.  Connect the TIG torch switch lead to the socket on the machine front panel marked "contactor".  Connect the return cable (work) to the terminal marked (+) on the machine."The remote connector is used for either a remote pedal or a pulse unit that supposedly was once available.FWIW, I did see a chinese pedal on ebay with the combination of a 2 and 3 prong amphenol connector.  I know the original used that combination.  It seems to me that the pedal could take the place of the switch on the TIG torch, to initiate the liftarc sequence.I hope this helps you.delkeen
