Hello,I recently picked up an SA200, and now would like to build a trailer for it.Does anyone have any reccommendations as far as what I'd include on it. Also, having no trailer building experience, is there an "optimum" distance between wheels, and axle to end-of-tongue dimentions (the triangle) . I don't want to over-engineer it, but I'd like something that tows good and is stable on the road. I'll also probably be starting from scratch. Thanks
Reply:do a search for trailer axels and spacing rquirements. you should be able to find the info that you need. or you cna try Northern Tools, Dexter axles, Haulparts .com
Reply:Here's a few pics of mine. I'm over weight with the single axle,(Trailer is 5X8 3500 lb axle and weighs 3875 lbs) which is also a little small, so I'm going to buy a 6X10 tandem axle. Attached Images
Reply:do you have regulator protectors for the tanks or do you take off your regulators when you change locations?I break things for a living...
Reply:I always take them off. I'm more comfortable traveling without any regulators on. I've seen the caps that have holes in them so you can leave the regulator on, but I still don't think that its safe, (IMO). |
