Reply:HGHS-corp,  The design of the project is very nice looking. Everything looks well laid out and "straight". As for weld quality I can only see a few examples. Some look fine, others not so much. As Gordon mentioned there is lack of fusion present. I would also be interested to know if there were any remarks included with your grade. Were you graded on blueprint reading, fabrication, as well as final product or just graded on the final product?jrw159 Attached Images

Reply:HGHS-Corp,  I am no structural/mechanical engineer so take this with a grain of salt. I would agree that there is most likely plenty of good weld on the areas mentioned (that can be seen in the pics provided) that it will not fail. It appears that the lack of fusion is not all the way around, only in a portion of the weld. However it is still a rejectable flaw and this most likely had a bearing on your grade. Based off of what I can see and the added info you provided I feel that it is a C+ for sure and I may have given a B grade (assuming the lack of fusion is limited to the areas show) . Most importantly I would have informed you of why I graded you that way so that you could fully understand and apply that info to future projects. I am not sure what your background is but if this is one of your first projects I would say you did well as long as you learned from the experience and apply the learned lessons in the future. All in all, from what I can see, pretty good! Reply:Looks good from what I can tell.  I can't tell you if the welds are right or not as I am new to welding myself.  I do have a question about the scroll work, are 3 of the scrolls up-side-down?  Or is that by design?  Keep up the good work. Attached Images
