Plasma art

I done this a few years back, I "free'' handed this one day just messin around. It was a "scrap" piece of 1/8" S.S. Gotta do some sorta frame, though. Reply:Cool!When you freehand like that, are you dragging, or do you just maintain a gap by hand?
Reply:I used to make a lot of chairs like these, plasma cut. But not freehand- I have an optical trace plasma cutting table, you draw the pattern life size with sharpie, and it follows it.Not CNC, but not by hand, either.

Reply:My version of a couple I saw on the net somewhere.  My wife works at a school that has a Yak for a mascot and my aunt and uncle live in the desert in Arizona and have alot of jackrabbits around their place. You can tell they are handcut...Using my Longevity 40 Attached Images(Retired) Professional firefighter, amateur everything else I try to do...Oh yeah:  Go Big Red!   (You know: one of the 12 members of the Big 10 cuz we left the 10 members of the Big 12...)

I am wondering about getting into plasma art. I want to build (5) security doors with cowboy art. Just to let you know the doors if I have them make are $600 each. I'll have less then $500 in the table. Already have HYPERTHERM POWERMAX 30. I'll create a project thread when I start on the table. I'm thinking 2" angle. 4' x 4' table. I'll push the 24" x 7' x 1/8 steel sheet throught half at a time. Don't have room for a 8' table.I really want to do an 8' stage coach and 6 running horses. I want to put it over a gate to some property next door. I haven't built the gate yet. Ha! The rest of the fence materal will be delivered monday. Nov. 2, 2009. My wife already said "No way." I like her.Vern
