water cooler for tig torch

building a water cooler for my 25 ft wp225 flex head water cooled package to be hooked up to my new powertig 200lx using the air cooled wp26 on my everlast power tig 200lx and it welds as good as my lincoln squarewave tig 350 which is over 700 lbs using  alum plates and fittings and a simple fan and 256 gph fountain pump which will be complete soon after i machine the fittings
Reply:Homemade torch water cooler setup  if you've never had a water cooled torch before, you will LOVE it, just buy the ultra flexible cloth covered lines as the hard plastic lines can become cumbersome. Good job so far
Reply:Yeah I have the flex cloth style cover and yeah I've had water tig cooled torch pkgs and I'm making tis one so I can transport it easily
Reply:Suggested fixes and/or additions:- hose clamps  Having a hose pop off or back off and leak would be bad.- fix the kink in the top hose to the tank.  Unles you need some extra flow restriction for some reason.- make shroud/duct to have airflow from the fan go to and through the radiator instead of hitting it and bouncing off.I see a flow path from tank bottom to pump, then from pump to radiator, then from radiator back to tank.  Where is the flow path to/from the torch?  Unless that top tube in the tank goes straight through from the radiator return out to the torch and doesn't flow into the tank.  But if that is so, why did you put a piece of pipe as a pass-through in and out of the tank? Looking forward to seeing the finished project and hearing how well it works out for you.  I remember someone else posted a how-made cooler setup a while ago.  It worked well for him.  The best laid schemes ... Reply:Ahh very good. When I finally grow up and buy myself an inverter based tig i'll be building a compact water cooler setup as well.
Reply:ok  hot water enters the top front then is pumped out of the bottom rear then is forced inside a pipe straight to the torch which will provide cooled water
