I know when using Gas you have the nozzle on the gun,but what about when your welding with fluxcored wire can you weld with just the tip or do you need some kind of fluxcore nozzle thingie thing?
Reply:You don't need any nozzle when using self shielded flux core. They do make flux core nozzles and I do run one tho. They aren't cheap necessarily. They also make tip adapters with no diffuser holes for folks who run exclusively nothing but flux core too.User preference. The reason I started using a flux core nozzle is that I got tired of bumping my diffuser and or tip up against clamps and other metallic parts in real tight spots. When you do that it's a bwop and you just blew a gouge in your diffuser or tip. The flux core nozzle acts as a bumper for me.

Reply:Ok thank you for your reply!
Reply:I use a gas nozzle I cut down even with the bottom of my contact tip on my LN-25 w/Magnum 400 gun. Protects the threads and allows air cooling for the contact tip. Otherwise it gets hot and binds up without the gas for cooling. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
