Hello everyone. I just got a Hobart 140 MIG machine for Xmas. I am not 100% new to MIG welding and have done a bunch of body work on my classic BMW, but this is MY first personal welder I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where I could get some scrap metal around the San Francisco CA area. Maybe some one on here even has a shop with some scrap laying around? Thanks, and a happy new year!Cheers from the German!

Reply:Scrap metal in California??? Isn't that a controlled substance? It might, after all, have dirt on it, and you might consider blowing the dirt off. At the very least I think you need to get a special use permit or something there, and of course, pay a fee.
Reply:Dig through the trash in industrial areas. I know it sounds dirty but as a dirt poor student I sometimes need to to get some practice material. |
