Unusual project/Favor

Okay.....I don't tackle projects the usual way if I can be creative. I was tasked with keeping an eye on my best friend's 15 y.o. daughter for the weekend. I was told if she got bored, boys would be invading my friends home like our "older" boys invaded Iraq. This little cutie plays a mean guitar and is an accomplished violinist and letters in high school as a swimmer. I have no kids of my own so I had to figure out something that would interest a 15 y.o.I've attached a photo of our afternoon. I don't know why, but she loved it. She was also asking intelligent questions.It also made my task easy and enjoyable. Now my friend owes me one and they may have to buy a welder for Christmas....... Attached Images

Reply:I have the best method for keeping boys in line around my daughters.I went to the slaughter house nearby and got the ball sack from a calf.  Had my taxidermist mount it on a trophy plaque.  On the brass tag under the ball sack is inscribed, " The last young man lost these when he was late."Hangs right by the door.  Then I invite them into my study and they see my weapon collection and Special Forces memorabilia.No problems!Next one I have to worry about is only eight now so I have a little while to rest.  She also likes to do everything with me.  She can drive my excavator with a real talent. She loves my shop.  The drill press is her favorite.  She wants to weld but I think she is too young. She also likes to climb.  As we drive in the truck she points out a rock formation and will casually say that she thinks we might need some rope and harness for that one. Attached Images

As we drive in the truck she points out a rock formation and will casually say that she thinks we might need some rope and harness for that one<<I also have two daughters, 14 and 17, they are both opposites in many respects.The younger one really likes making things, doing things with her hands, she's advised that she'd like to try some welding, take an auto shop class in school, and learn to ride a motorcycle when she's 16.  I told her that she can do all those things if that is what she wants to do (my wife is reluctantly going along so far).Regards to all.Working on cars and bikes is my hobby, learning to weld the pieces together is my quest.
