Reply:Where did you see the Ad? Some times the actual fabrication gets lost in translation to the Ad company their site doesn't mention welding"Type CR-MO steel tube profile with pipe and bottom made of cast aluminium"http://brewsterwest.com/OSSA.htmlEd Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
Reply:The add is in Trials and Enduro News. I reread it and it states, "Tig Welded" cast aluminum to cr-mo tubing. I want some of that rod.Steve
Reply:There is also a new process using wire feed welding aluminum to steel. Right now it has limited use but as time goes on there will be more. It requires a specialized power supply and the connection is something like a brazing joint only it is done with a wire feed welder. It is sort of a cold welding developed by Fronius in Europe. |
