Reply:Our high is only 82F Today, haha, I don't know how anyone can live in that cold. I lived in Chicago and Hartford for 1 year each, the only way I'm ever going back is with a round trip ticket. If you cannot convince them, confuse them. Harry S Truman

Reply:Ive been doing a transformer move here at the generating station this week and have been outside welding the old ones down to the rail cars to be shipped out. Its been -57 for the past 3 days, its crazy how fast things freeze in this temperature. luckily warmed up to -39 today... would you believe all im wearing today is my insulated carhartts under shirt, and hoody? its pretty bad when -39 feels balmy!
Reply:The wind went down to 10-15 mph and the temp. popped up to -15F.It could only mean one thing to my son.Go-kart time. Attached Images

Reply:I cannot imagine weather that freaking cold. There is a reason that I stayed in FL; just lucky enough that I actually got one here to be honest. The heat doesnt bother me, I want to move to AZ sometime in the next 5 years or soMechanical Engineer

Reply:My brother and family live in Port Douglas - up toward the northern tip of Australia. He comes south, but the whole family came down to Sydney to visit us in early November. That's our spring, so things are warming up - average temp during the day would be around 70F.His first question when he got to my house was: 'Hey Scotty, got a jumper (pullover) I can borrow?'It seems he doesn't own one. Hasn't needed one for years.Second question: 'Got some socks?'Amazing how acclimatised he's become to that hot, moist northern climate.Yeah, I carry.House keys, wallet, some change, usually a newspaper, maybe a pen.
Reply:It got up to 20F here today (been 0 or below for over a week), people started taking off their hats and un zipping their jackets. -DanOwnerDW Metalworks LLCMiller Trailblazer 302Miller 8RC FeederMiller Passport PlusMiller Dynasty 200 DX W/Coolmate 1Hobart Handler 135Hypertherm PowerMAX 30Smith O/A Torch SetPlus much much more
Reply:it was in the 10's in portland when I left for reno last weekend. It snowed the whole time I was there.. which wasnt too bad except for all the walking I did in it.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:you know dealing with canadian winters you become immune to the cold after so long, like the coldest ive welded outside in was -67, with 4 guys and tiger torches following my welds on the pipe lol. Thing is you can dress for it and you can take layers off as it gets warmer, i find it almost harder working in the summer on a +35 day. Theirs really no way to escape from the heat. |
