Good Afternoon,I had the fun of building a garden cart with the help of my oldest son who was home for Thanksgiving. He is an engineer, so it was a delight to work through some design issues on the removable tale gate with him. Bonding, all that stuff. It started life as a shop cart with solid rubber, cast aluminum wheels. I moved those wheels to a cart for a MIG and stick welder and added rubber wheels to this 3 foot by 5 foot flat bed platform. For sided, I sheered and bent 14 g sheet with a two inch top edge for safety and stiffness. I used my new three in one welder to cut some uprights for the tail gate to slide into and to TIG weld the corners of the sheet metal sides. It may be slow, but I really like TIG welding. It is so easy to see what you are doing. I had a triangle tow frame with a 2 inch ball hitch, so I bolted that to the front and can pull it with my garden tractor. Thank you for letting me share the fun of a simple project. Well done on all the amazing things you guys and gals are building and keep up the inspiration. Paul Attached Images
Reply:The wheels look a bit small for it. Nice project though.

Reply:That was a correct observation, the front two tires are swivel casters and work very well. I remind myself to drive forward a little before filling it with wood, so they do not have to spin 180 degrees under load. I will admit that just today I saw that backward slant and had to bend down to look at it before I remembered that they are like that from the factory. I guess it was a senior moment. The paint is a must, but we are finally having some winter here in Michigan. And for the record, I did test drive a Yugo once. I talked to a new Yugo dealership owner once. He said that he dropped the line when a prospective customer had the radio fall out while on a test drive. Have a great Christmas everyone!
