Reply:Samm, Thank that money pit for all of us here on WeldingWeb, with out them we wouldn't have you here now would we? Well, them and the beer distributor too!I would say that you are pretty high up on the popularity chart and most of us guys look forward to your next project and/or adventure. Now keep dumping that money and let's get that next project moving along.I am what I am, Deal with it!If necessity is the Mother of Invention, I must be the Father of Desperation!

Reply:Samm, that sure looks like a nice place of bidness.Plus they're a steel supply! I don't believe I've ever seen that combination.Funny how sometimes a business will stumble around and find a unique niche, or two.I call dibs on the jumbo cup-type wire brush in pic #5!  Last edited by denrep; 12-14-2009 at 09:03 PM.

We should have one of those here<<You make a good point JMAN, I wish I had such a store near me too; here's what I generally find at stores in the area I go too:1.  Not much stock, the stuff they have is usually dusty, they can always order things for you though2.  When I order, it literally takes weeks to come in, usually people don't call to say things have arrived (even though they promise to do so), seems people don't seem to care much3.  The stores close at 5:00 p.m., and are only open Monday through Friday (no weekends), makes it difficult to get there before closing to buy anything4.  People usually can't answer more complex welding questions, there's supposedly one guy at the store whom would know but he's never usually there for some reason or other5.  People promise to get back to you about a question regarding a product that you might want to order from them, but they usually don't (even though they say they will)6.  The stores that are open weekends (Home Depot, Princess Auto, Canadian Tire, etc.) have some welding stuff, but it's usually for stick welding, or a small MIG machine (usually Flux Core setup), asking any type of welding question of the teenagers whom man the store is a waste of timeIn closing, I wish there was a store, open till 6:00 p.m. at least one night a week, that had a good selection of the usual consumables for serious MIG/TIG/Stick guys, that at least appeared interested in getting your business. The store I have switched to lately appears much better, I'll stick with them for now, but they close at 5:00 p.m. too so I guess you can't have everything.Regards to all.Working on cars and bikes is my hobby, learning to weld the pieces together is my quest.
Reply:DavidSims, really? in Toronto?  the stores only open M-F?  I'm no expert on Canadia (canadians are from canadia, no? hehe) but isn't Toronto one of the major cities?my LWS opens half day on saturday (closes at noon, often, I'm the only customer on saturdays).  even AirGas is open on saturday.  half of metal suppliers within 20/30 minutes also open past noon on saturdays.
