I finally got the plasma cutter in and boy do I like it. I had never used a plasma very much but hated that I couldn't get a smooth cut. Well Lincoln solved that. Smooth as can be with no jagged edges. It doesn't even care if the metal is scaly, lol. I haven't even tried the drag cup yet.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. Reply:Drag cup and guide is most of what I use. You will love that for plate!Me!

Reply:Jolly,Are you buying you Lincoln stuff locally? I can't seem to find anybody that even wants to do anything with a Lincoln on this side if the lake.
Reply:Since I have had my plasma, I rarely use the torches. Oxy and Acet last a LOT longer. David Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:Gary, I got it from Reddarc in Baton Rouge. It was supposed to be a rental unit but was never sent out except for 2 demos. I couldn't tell it had ever been used. Industrial Welding Supply in Harvey (their repair shop) carries Lincoln (and has better prices than anybody). They don't keep a lot of stuff on the floor but they will get you anything you want. Last time I was there the only plasmas they had in stock were Thermal Arc and Thermadyne, but everything seems to go through there pretty fast. In fact the only major brand I haven't seen on the floor there is Miller (but they will order you one). The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist. |
