Reply:I plan on taking the basic tig class doing lap, butt, bevel, overhead one. Then maybe next year I will do the other class. Kind of hard getting a week off of work Did you stay at a local hotel? Wondering if they do discounts for people going to class.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:Yes we stayed in a Hotel,But was paid by the company I work for.I heard there are some hotels there that do give discounts for ppl going to Lincoln.Ide do a goodle search of the hotels there then call and ask them.
Reply:There are a couple tricks you can use with hotels that can save you some money. Most usually give a AAA discount for example, even off "special rates" in some cases. Also many chains have "clubs" that you can join for free. I think the one we usually use for our trips is Choice hotels. If you do your booking on line thru their site they have certain specials. IIRC the last time we stayed if you stayed 3 nights in a row at the same location, you earned enough points for a free night at a later time. We usually tried to plan our stays to work around that if possible. Also since we usually have to drive long distance when we travel, they will arrange your room reservations by phone at no charge. For example if it's getting late, we'll simply call and tell them we are heading out the Ohio turnpike near whatever city, and ask what the nearest available hotels they have are and what the rates are. Then they can give us the address to put in the GPS. A lot simpler than the way we used to do it years ago where we'd have to guess in advance how far we'd go and then look for a place to stay near there. Now we simply go, and when we get tired, give them a call and see what's decent that's coming up say in the next 1/2 hour drive or so. No need to prearange a room and call to cancel if we don't get as far, and the rates are lower than if we simply walked in off the street..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan

Reply:I took a Intro Welding class last year.I was So Impressed at this School and you learn So. much. I would Highly suggest to anyone that wants to learn or increase their skills to go here. There is a good balance of classroom and Shop time and of course their Welder selection is second to none.If someone wants to bring their Engine driven Welder for the class , they can do that also. |
