Not really sure where to post this at but here goes. Hey guys i found this gal on the net and had her make me some hats, they are the best hats i have found to date they are pre washed so no shrinking and they come down over your ear and don't ride up on a guy like the ones you get at your LWS The pics i have are of the ones she made for me i picked out some material and sent it to her cause i found some cool stuff but she has so much to choose from. You can look her up on face book at welding hats by diana or go to my face book page and look there i will also put her number here whe does custom embrodering and all sorts of stuff good price as well 402-270-2645 is her number she is in Nebraska. I know i will never buy a hat at the store ever again. just thought i would pass on the info. http://www.facebook.com/hdwelding?sk=wall Attached ImagesLincoln Pro Core 125Lincolin sp 100Miller Big 40Lincoln Idealarc SP250miller matic 212http://www.facebook.com/hdwelding?sk=wallwww.hdweldingbeds.com
Reply:I get my welding caps custom made too. Back in 2007 close to MY birthday my ole lady was wanting a new sewing machine. I said if I got her one, she would have to build me some welding caps, she agreed. I bought HER a new sewing machine for MY BIRTHDAY. I bought a new welding cap(my size) at the LWS for her to take apart to use as a pattern. After making several, I asked her to make the rest with a bill like the ones on a baseball cap rather than the small ones found on other welding caps. I like these much better as they cover the head more where needed when turned around as usual, and look more normal with the bill facing to the front. She ended up making more for her sons, grandsons, and a few nephews for Christmas. I think some of mine were given away during that Christmas, too. Here are a few of mine. Attached Images
Reply:Just to let you know, on HER birthday the same year, I got a MM140 with spoolgun, and converter box. Along with a 10lb. roll of FC and some AL. wire rolls and a bottle of Argon. I think this helped even the score on who got what for whose B-day. If the MM211 w MVP had been available at that time I would have gotten it instead, but I needed a MIG that would operate on 120V to weld on some AL. boats at the time.
Reply:I used to have a Casper the Friendly Ghost welding hat, had it for years, wore it till it fell apart. Ya know why they make welding caps out of all those whacky patterns? Becuase material for children's rooms and furnishings is made to be flame retardant. They get it cheap tp make the hats. Sorry if that is redundant. I just wear army hats now.Welding everything, from the crack of dawn to a broken heart.
Reply:I get all mine from a customer of mine. Every time they have me over to fix something , I get a few more hats. She even puts my name on them.
Reply:I never have gotten used to welding caps, I just wear a plain old Guinness ball cap backwards. Never really thought about being flame retardant tho.If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."Boy, everyone starts with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before the bag of luck is empty."-Grandad circa 1990ish
