Reply:No, most people dislike MOST 110v welders... There are a few execptions, if you get your wallet out and spend some decent cash.With stick and tig,  top of the line inverters like Dynasty's and Maxstar's will give you fair penetration because they will run 3/32" rods at around 100 amps with a decent duty cycle on 110v power. Cheap  units usually will only run up to 5/64" rods well and you will not get great penetration on much more than sheet metal.The big issue is simply not enough power, whether it's mig, stick of tig on 110v..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Thanks DSW, that's what I thought.  I have a Thermal Arc 161S that is 110v capable.  I always use it with 220v, but was wondering.
