My families business is photography. I am the only one who doesn't work there for a living. Since film is becoming extinct, I get to scrap all of the obsolete equipment. It's kinda sad because I grew up working there, and it's killing my father because his "fortune" is being phased out. He has been in business for just under fifty years.Any way, this is a film processor for developing 35mm film. The tanks and most of the machine is all stainless. I am not going to scrap them because I am hoping to get a tig torch for my welder and I will have a bunch of ss to play with. I am just going to scrap the mild steel unless it is something i can use. There are a lot of pumps and motors and gear reductions and ss shafts ect.I do see me making a really nice oil drain pan out of the ss tanks. Any other suggestions? The tanks are approx 1/16" thick, just a guess."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:We still have a minilab and a small film processor for doing individual rolls. The machine I have pictured is for doing mass quantities. We used to splice thousands of rolls together on 10" spools and it would go thru here and develope. We had eleven locations at one point, and this was at the central lab. Also we used to have thirty-four photographers shooting weddings on a Saturday. Not including the weddings on Fri & Sun, and the outside pro photographers bringing us their film and the amateur customers bringing us their film. Each wedding would use between ten and thirty rolls of film. This is the "light" end of the machine. The end in the dark room I have not touched yet. I was told there could be quite a bit of titanium on that end. The "bleach" chemical to stop the action of the "developer" chemical is some corrosive stuff."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:Not to hijack your thread....but my friends worked here at Houstons. Houstons made those machines for 35mm processing. They went out of business a while back, for the same reason...nobody is using film anymore.Good luck.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain

Reply:Make sure there is no residual chemicals before you start working with the s/s, heat can do some funky things to different chemicals. Look what happens when you tig around chlorinated solvents. Be careful grinding for the same reason....Mike
Reply:Depending on the size of the B&W processors, you might be able to sell them. B&W processors are what we used to install for Xray machines for develoding film. While some places are going to digital imaging, small offices like dental offices, Chiropractors, othopedic clinics and Vet facilities still use standard Xray film and still will for many years to come. A couple of calls to some Xray repair / instalation companies might net you a few more bucks than scrap if the machines can be set up to process the larger film negatives..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:I got my first digital x-ray on Monday.  I didn't even know they had gone digital yet.  It was way cool.  I like film for taking pictures, though.  Anybody can take 100 pictures to get a great digital shot.  With film, you only get one chance for a great shot.

Reply:Unfortunately no. I have one 35 mm underwater film camera a friend wants me to try and sell. It's almost new and no one is at all interested. Digital for underwater makes too much sense and the prices of entry level digital UW camera's are super cheap now. Some have been interested in the strobe for the camera to use with digital, but not the camera. He wants to keep them together as of now, hoping to find someone who's interested. Even a good friend who shoots Pro quality underwater picts went 100% digital last year. 2 Nikon D200's, in either a Aquatica housing or Subal housing. More shots, easier to tell what is or is not good, simple to post to the web....No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear.
