Well, I'm having a HELLUVA' time finding this stuff. Basically the same stuff as the Hitch Mounts, but I don't actually need any 'Serious' wall thickness. Anyone know where to find such Square Tube @ 1 7/8" of ANY wall thickness 1/8" or thicker?Cheers,/J.....Miller Diversion 165120 amp Buzz BoxVictor Oxy/Ace Oxy/LPGSmith "Little" Oxy/LPGHypertherm Powermax 30Lot's of Misc. tools n' crap....
Reply:Jman,Try here https://www.metalsupermarkets.com/ca...TUBE_ROUND/DOMdepending on what grade you need. They are not the cheapest but not to bad and they they have a large selection
Reply:No such thing, as far as I know. Most standard receiver tubes (mounted on the bumper), are slightly oversize, 2.53 x 2.53, internal flash-out (that means the internal seam has been removed). Any standard 2" x 2" x 1/4" or 3/16" wall tube, and many 1/8" wall tubes also will fit inside, assuming the radius of the corners will allow it. For small quantities, you can buy standard outside receiver tubes, seamless, from Northern, in up to 18" lengths.
Reply:Yeah, 2" square tubing will fit loosely in a regular trailer hitch. Is that what you're looking to do?Jack OlsenMy garage website
Reply:Unless someone made a hitch from 2.5x2.5x.25" that didn't have the flash removed, then 2" doesn't fit. My buddy got a Jeep that had that problem, he ran all over town looking for "just a tiny bit under 2" square" until I asked him wtf he was doing and he explained. Cut the home-made hitch off and gave it a proper hitch, he was good to go.If you cannot convince them, confuse them. Harry S Truman
