hey all, I have come seeking wisdom from the pros. First off, I am a carpenter, and have been asked to make a new bar top, for, you guessed it, a bar. Now, basically the top is about 12' x 2' and is your typical bar top. There is an area that is recessed for setting the drinks while they are being made. They have asked that this area be stainless steel, this is where you all come in. Basically my question comes down to, what is the best way to do this? I am not sure if I should have a stainless "tray" fabbed up and glue that in? with like 1/16" steel, or use very thin SS roll stock formed and glued in? Here is a picture of the current bar, that I will be more or less copying. You can see on the rt. side of the picture the little recess I am talking about that goes the length of the bar and they asked to be stainless. This "tray" would be about 11' long with 3/4" or so depth. Anyone have any tips? Thanks,Brew Attached Images
Reply:Kind of silly to not have it removable no? It's a bar, it's going to get wet and water/drinks will get under the metal and warp the wood. Reply:It will probably cost a good bit to have stainless sheared, notched, formed, welded, and passived. I just googled shallow stainless steel pans and a bunch of stuff popped up. If you aren't locked in to a specific size, you might find something close to what you need and cut your bar to fit.MILLER 330 AB/PMILLER GOLD STAR 130KUBOTA BX24CASE MINI HAY PRESSBENCH MILLHYPERTHERM 45BABY HOSSFELD
