I just want to say this site is awesome! Got lots of ideas from many people on here. I did my first ever project. Of course everybody gets tired of a welding cart so I did so much to this so it wouldnt look small and plain like I have been seeing. It took me about a month to build. The table top is approximately 44 x 30 inches. So its pretty big. Its 1/4 inch steel diamond plate for the table top. This entire table is made out of scrap metal. The only piece i bought brand new was the expanded metal for the bottom. And I found the diamond plate at a Metal recycling center for 20 dollars. And I painted it black as you see. I made this Cart/ Table to hold my Oxygen and acetylene bottles and also my Argon bottle. I have bolted down my vise and bench grinder on the table top. And I have my HF Pipe Bender on the bottom. Also have a 25 ft extension cord for the 220 V welder. Please comment. Thanks. If you have any questions just ask.oh yeah I wanted to paint the table top but its gonna get beat up anyways. thats why the table top looks like crap. Reply:Tandem axles maybe? Looks heavy duty I like it.
Reply:Thanks for the comments. The table top is not removeable. I just didnt want to paint the table top because its gonna get beat up by all the metal. The table alone is about close to 150 lbs. So its not bad at all rolling around. When I put the pipe bender it made it a little harder to push. That dam bender is heavy. Anyways if i need to roll it outside I would just take the bender off.
Reply:Man, I dig that table...  Superb Job !  The only thing that I see wrong with it is the fact that the table top does get heavy use and lots of heavy stock, tube, etc..  I would be a bit worried that such a piece of metal might fall or smack onto one of those regulators or valve's.  I'd probably have to attach a 'removable' guard or shield' to feel comfortable working with any 'heavy stuff' on the table.Just my opinion,Cheers,  /Jman..Miller Diversion 165120 amp Buzz BoxVictor Oxy/Ace Oxy/LPGSmith "Little" Oxy/LPGHypertherm Powermax 30Lot's of Misc. tools n' crap....
Reply:That's a nice, well organized set up. Good Job!!! The only thing I'd worry about is a hot gobber falling into those torch hose coils, maybe a table top extension out over them.                            JMHO,                                        MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw

Reply:I had gotten the idea of putting a vise on the table top from this cart. I liked the idea cause I have never seen any other cart with one on it. Or a bench grinder bolted down. Check out this link. I like the idea on page 5 how he put the receptacles on the whole cart it self. Im thinking about doing that to mine. http://www.ctcn.net/~mikecorcoran/we...dingcart4.html
Reply:great looking cart. I like it, but I am wondering...Are there any possible bad side effects from having the welder on the same table that you are welding on? just curious, I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the welder should be isolated.. or away from the work area  again, not a knock on your design, I'd like to built one myself..i'm just curious..
