Reply:Home Depot tool rental? The only rental policy I know of at Home Depot is the use it once and return it the next day rental policy. It requires a 100% down but you get it all back.
Reply:So...jack the car up on one side, then weld from the end that is on the ground? Ok."The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."
Reply:Actually the Canadian Home Depots have lots of tools for rent, including welders.... Originally Posted by 76GMC1500Home Depot tool rental? Reply:I'm not too sure about these dudes! Those mercedes jacks are very unstable. they are a nice design but they need a wider base to be safer. I know that we all do unsafe stuff from time to time, but getting under the car with that jack and on a gravel surface.......that's definatley not a safe move.Plus, those guys must be welding that exhaust with flux core wire. I didn't see a bottle of gas.........FC doesn't play well with exhaust tubing....really easy to burn through.Last edited by BurningMetal; 11-11-2009 at 10:38 PM.

Reply:Hmm does this idiot have a death wish?? No welding gloves, battery is still hooked up, no jack stands.. And people cleaning the car while it has power running through it?? Geeze if I was to do that crap in the shop bye bye job and hello lawsuit.....Leave the welding to an experienced welder dope.Fluxcore can be used but I agree that solid wire is better on exhausts.I wonder how long it took to fall apart again? |
