Show us what you have repurposed bed frames into. I was given twenty beds from a local hotel. They were mostly wood but on the bottom they have small frames out of square tubing with 2mm thick wall.  I built a small rolling table to hold my grinders. The frame also had some welded wire bottoms 2 inch square 1/4 inch rod.  I made the shelves from that.
Reply:I forgot the pictures.First picture as I took them off the bed wood frame.Second.  The table I made.  I welded some old casters on and used the wire mesh for shelves.  It is not finished in the picture.  As I was building it I needed some help to position the frames for welding them together so I made this jig for clamping.  I can rotate it and lock it with a set screw.  I just clamped the frames in and welded on one side and then rotated them for the other side.  I could do all the welding standing up which is a big plus for my old back. Reply:The jig turn the other was in the vise.  You can just see the hex head bolt to fix the shaft from turning.  Took twenty minutes and saved a lot of time.  Not clean I know but it was cold and I needed to get done.Of course I showed the jig and the table to the wife.  She thought the jig was great but then said she thought I should have put the wheels on the bottom instead of the top.  What purpose did they serve on the top.   Blonde wife of course! Reply:Ahaaaa, when I saw the thread Subject "how about all the things you have made out of bed frames?" I assumed it was the universal 1.5x1.5 steel angle-iron and was intrigued,  since I have a few of the angle iron style, i was looking for ideas, it seems a sin to just trash them.2 surprises in one, square tubing and grills and your jig was a bonus surprise since I Subscribe to  "Home made tools! Reply:most of the lids are bed frames.....that stuff can be a pain to work with. you cant cut them with a sawzall....its grinder, chopsaw, or torch. they will clean the teeth of a sawzall blade in 5 seconds flat!

Reply:OMG.  I thought I was the only one who made things from bed frames. When I tell people about the stuff I made from it I get crazy looks. Anyways I just came in from the garage I was making a brackets for suitcase weights for a riding mower out of bed frames. I've also made Motorcycle dolly's, battery boxes, Small garden tractor trailers and a lot more. Anything that people use angle iron for I use bed frame, it's always free people just throw them away. The easiest way I found to cut it is a grinder and a cut off wheel or the torch.
Reply:its a very large bbq grill...my grill has a title....turn signals...and is legal for the road!
Reply:Thats cool I thought I had the biggest grill around, but you have me beat with a mobile grill.

Reply:This is a hangar I made for a long windchime / gong. Chime hangs in the middle.  No clapper on it, so it needs to be hit manually, but that was how it was designed, so that it could be hit with different things to give it a different sound.
Reply:^^ I like the touch of injector at the topSomeone needs to make an auto-darkening Predator welding helmet...complete with dreads and multiple spectra of IR vision.
Reply:Good eye.  It needed something on top, so the scrap pile had the injector and hub bolt, put them together and had a nice topper for the hangar roof.

Reply:What type of steel are they made of ? I cut one with a chopsaw & weird sparks were flying ..not like really american steel..beats be~~~~
Reply:I would suspect that they are made from re-rolled railroad tracks.  There's a couple companies that buy up old tracks and shear them down and roll them into angle and flat pieces.  For someone buying large quantities of angle, its the cheapest stuff you can get but its mechanical properties vary.  Some (well probably most) of it is really hard but every once in a while you'll hit a soft section.Miller 250x & Lincoln V205-TSmith Oxy-Prop torch

Reply:Still looks like a fun little hot rod .... I think you should restore it, and show it off.  Even better, make a small bed over the top of the engine, or even a small trailer, and use it at the track for a pit vehicle.
