I just bought a shop load of tools and in it was a ac dc lincoln welder but it has a tig torch and bottle of 100% argon with it. but it is hooked directly to the welder. I always thought the HERTZ box was also needed to do this not straight from the welder.
Reply:HERTZ box? I'm assuming you mean a high frequency box.A high frequency box is usually only needed if you plan on using a regular SMAW (stick) power source as a GTAW (TIG) power source and want to have non-contact start for DC welding and/or use AC current for aluminum welding. From what it sounds like the machine you have was designed as a GTAW machine and probably has the high frequency function built in.It would be easier to confirm this if you could post pictures of the machine and/or the model number.EDIT: I meant to add that if you meant to buy a SMAW machine, chances are the GTAW machine you have can be used for stick welding.Visit Tensaiteki.com
Reply:ok here is what I can seen on it lincoln AC/DC 225/125 CA/CC(ithinkca/cc is just french) 79V max specification W352-304. now this thing is at least 50lbs. heavier than my reg lincoln stick welder. will post pics once battery is charged for digi cam
Reply:as far as I know its just an ac/dc stick welder.
