I need to get a SA200 out of my truck and into my garage. I'm thinking about renting an engine hoist to pull this off but not having any exp. with them I don't know if this gonna work. Anyone ever try this or got any other tricks to loading and unloading a machine?
Reply:put a 8 foot 4x4 in rafters and a chain hoist

Reply:Gee thanks Tozzi! I don't know why I didn't think of that... lol
Reply:A one ton chain fall off a big tree limb will do the trick. I have used that method for numerous engine swaps and other projects.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Unbolt it from the truck, back REAL FAST toward garage, Stomp the brakes. Done right, it should end up somewhere in the garage.
Reply:I use my 1 ton engine fold-up hoist fully extended (1000# position) to unload from the back of trucks or trailers. Once the truck/trailer is pulled out from under it, lower the load close to the ground for best stability while rolling into desired position.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:Rent 2ton engine hoist as a safety precaution.
Reply:Duane is correct. As long as the bulk of the load doesn't extend beyond the casters on the front legs of the engine hoist it's perfectly safe."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/ |
