I tried doing a round one and that didn't go well. I had a piece of 2.5" round 6061 about 8" tall and I used a hole saw bit to make a round top. It did have a center hole in it from the hole saw. I put it on the bench and started my arc and the top plate kind of flew off the round pipe. Figured maybe because the hole wasn't big enough at the top and the gas filled it up? I put the round tube on a a piece of filler wire under it like I saw in one of zaps videos so the gas would have another place to escape. Started the arc and the top blew off again. Tried it a 3rd time but this time I put the tube hanging over the end of my work bench halfway and that worked.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer |
