My offset reverse flow smoker is ready for a firebox. Smoke chamber is 100# LP bottle.I know generally where it needs to go but am looking for ideas. Should it be a box, or a smaller cylinder? Those who have done this before: Was your firebox big enough or too small? Too hot, too cold......I have a sheet of 11ga hot rolled steel I was considering using to build the box. Is that thick enough? This is my first smoker so don't be afraid to insult me.RyanLincoln PowerMig 180cVictor O/ABandaids and aspirinI don't know what I don't know!?

Reply:try this (smoker size calc.zip) formula for you size of the smoke chamber and the smoke inlet along with your exhaust. You can use the metal you have but it would be better to make it a double walled chamber with 1 inch or 2 inch high temp insulation in it....Just a fyi if you need therms for your smoker I can get them for ya.JerodHypertherm 30Miller Syncrowave 200Millermatic 140and a propane torch and hanger if all else fails
