quick question on hf 3 1/2'' chop saw

I will maby use this thing 2 or 3 times a year. also if i do buy it can i put a carbide blade on it we have one on the saw at work it has ben on there for years and it cuts black pipe quite often. thanks for the advise jerry

Reply:You cant put a carbide blade on a normal chop saw, you will tear the teeth off it and probably get yourself hurt. The carbide blade saws only spin around 1300rpm's
Reply:Yep always be sure to match the blade rpm with the rpm of the saw or your asking for trouble.I have that saw and it's loud and the clamp broke. It doesn' stay tight, the threads got slightly chewed up after some mild use.
