Reply:Nice Job!!!!Don't hold it against me but I am an asphalt guy. But I do enjoy the sprints on dirt. You will be happy to know that the local 3/8" asphalt track was covered in 24" of clay this season. Oddly enough the crowds doubled.Building my own race-cars is the only reason I learned how to weld 20 years ago.Good luck!!!!!!ScottFab Managerhttp://www.welders360.com/New guy.

Reply:Thanks guys! I bought this car over the winter, its not a late model, here in OK. its called a Street Stock. Full automotive type frame is required. Motor not to exceed 368 cu. in.I had started building the bodies last year & when I bought this car it had a white body, all my cars have been black, I built a new one! Going to finally get a chance to see what it will do this next weekend. Thanks again!Flashhttp://flashracecarbodies.com
Reply:Street Stock........ ok, different tracks classify cars the way the rules apply.  Late Models in Nebraska use a stock frame front (similar to IMCA frames) but can use aftermarket suspension components, 4bbl carbs, alcohol for fuel, 3 or 4 link rear suspensions & sliders for rear axle placement.Street Stock in Nebraska was a full bodied car, with a full frame (no uni-body cars allowed), had to be at least 110" wheelbase (tech inspection measures), no setback of the engine or move to the left side.  I built engines for Pro-Am, which was the same as Street Stock, 360 cu in max, Holley 4412 2bbl carb, no hi rise manifolds, no roller cams, no pop-up pistons, must have factory heads - no aftermarkets or aluminum.  All engines had a $350.00 claim.  $50 went to the towing company to pull the engine at the end of the night, $300 went to the owner of the engine. With a few "tricks" (no rule breaking allowed, but bending them to the max is just racing) those 355-360 cubic inch motors could push 400 hp.  And running pump gas with a few additions.  Our car was blamed for running "pop-ups", had to pull the heads twice to prove they were flat tops.  Never looked at the carb, did look at the camshaft & followers, but nothing ever proved we broke the rules.Unfortunately the driver couldn't drive in traffic & when he would get ahead, he would actually slow down to get cars around him "so he could race".  Then he would lose the race.  Oh well, 3, 4, 5th place finishes allowed him to be in the top 5 at the end of the season.  Has the trophy's to prove it.That body looks great.  Remember, when it doubt, right foot to the floor, hold the wheel straight & get to the next turn first.  Oh yeah, don't forget to turn left.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
Reply:What thickness aluminum do you use for the bodies?
Reply:I use .040 pre-painted aluminum. I buy it in 4'x10' sheets.Flashhttp://flashracecarbodies.com
