No, not making a BBQ, having a BBQ. I've been talking with some friends and coworkers who'd like to learn how to weld (or at least get some hands-on experience welding), and the idea's come up to having welding / bbq get together. It'd be another month or two off (I've got a Barracuda to finish and the weather's got to sort itself out), so I figured it'd be a good idea to ask you lot for suggestions and ideas for small and simple welding projects.I've got a small pile of scrap metal of various types handy, but would like to suggest to those attending that they stop by the local Metal Supermarket and pick up some pieces to work with. Obviously the basics "make a pass to weld two pieces together" would be the first thing everyone would give a go, but I'd like them to be able to leave with something they've made.I've got a pretty good selection of tools on hand for metal cutting and bending (including a oxy-torch I've yet to even use since I bought it), and it will be a MIG setup for the welding, but I figure nothing much larger than say a loaf off bread is likely to be the result of anyone's project. I figure maybe 5 to 10 people would be showing up starting around early afternoon, so with time allotted for socializing and eating, the projects can't be too big, but let's hear 'em regardless!
