Im looking to build a small dump cart. I would like to keep it simple and only use a mast and hand winch to tip it up. This cart is going to be used to haul manure around, never to be used on highways etc...Something simillar to this one.Does anyone have a set of plans? Any advice? Attached Images

Reply:really - you dont need a set of plans. in fact i normally build all my trailers with a rough drawing and some basic measurements.you've already got a picture to work fron, so now you just need to throw some measurements on it - the best way to learn and grow as a welder is to just do things - dont ask for someone to hold your hand the whole way (asking for plans) just start building.an easy way to do this is determine how big u want ur dump bed to be, then you can determine your axle width, and then just make a tongue long enough for you to be able to manuver it (remeber the shorter the trailer the harder to back up)if you cant seem to come up with anything go to your local outdoor store (lowes, tractor supply etc) and take some measurements - ive yet to find a manager or store employee who will throw me out for taking some measurements and writing them down on paper.on a side note: i wouldnt use a mast, but rather make the bed barely off balance, so that you can simply tilt it with a few pounds - make it like a tilt trailer. i think the winch idea is cool but ur gonna spend all day cranking it to tilt it up and downI break things for a living... |
