New Welding Station

Hi All;I bought an old 220V MIG welder on Craigslist.  It was bigger than my last welder and wouldn't fit on my existing cart so I decided to make a new cart.  One thing that's always felt like a limitation of the standard carts is they don't carry all the grinding and cutting tools that are just as much a part of fabricating as the welder.   With this in mind, I made this cart that holds all my tools and the welder.  The cut off saw fits neatly on the bottom shelf when I'm not using it.  I made slots for four grinders on the side and then one for the front so I can easily hang up the one I happen to be using instead of setting on the ground.  On the bottom shelf I made places for three 4.5" grinding disks, two 7" disks and a spot for 14" cut off disks.  There's also a place to hang my welding helmet and face shield.  All the hoses and cords have a place to hang and I added a power strip.Please let me know what you think. Reply:That's one good lookin cart.  I put a spot to hold one 4.5" angle grinder and cutoff wheels/grinding wheels/flappers.  I figured I'm never taking it further than a few steps away from my welding table so I can always walk back and get whatever other stuff I need, but I like your design for all your welding stuff in 1 spot in the garage.  Nice work - any pictures of the welds?  A nice addition might be a sliding plate to put your hot saw on so you dont have to lift it out.  It would have to lock and make sure it wasn't obstructed on either side but it would be pretty sweet.Millermatic 135Syncrowave 250

Reply:Nice and tight. Looks like it might work good w/enough space to keep almost all your stuff in one place. Not too much sticking out to snag you either. My pet peeve at the moment is a safe place to hang/place the helmet and gloves when I take them off; want it w/in reach while keeping the lens safe. Maybe a fold out hook somewhere would do it if you feel similar.1-800Miner pinned it: Tomorrow you'll find a new 1/2SF need w/only 1/4SF available!  Happens to me every time I make something.Thanks for sharing.Rufus

Reply:I should have said the cart holds, "everything you need to make a welding cart."  Seems like every time I think about it, I add a feature to hold something new!Regarding the welds question, I ground every weld smooth.
