Reply:Are you sure you really want to spend countless hours and dollars building a gas forklift from scrap when there are SO MANY of these things for sale CHEAP now days???MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:No , more a case of I have most all the components laying around the yard and would rather put them to use than scrap them also I have a little more time than money right now. Most of the machines in this area go to mexico b4 you can even go look at them.not going to spend a lot of time on this doesnt need to be pretty just functional.I found some on google but was just looking for more ideas250DXMM251MM175225G plus 251D-1
Reply:Ok, I'll share a bit.  This is a 34 hp Yanmar with hydrostatic drive. It had a front lawnmower on it. When I got it it the PTO was damaged. I removed that and figured to put a little fork lift kinda thing on the front to mvove stuff at the ranchita. I've already changed it quite a bit since this first tackin, I am ordering a toplink which is hydraulic and the lift itself has been changed some... but it is/will be a li'l forklift mule. This is in progress and I'd rather finish it and post a thread but here's a pic for fun. Reply:Thanks denrep you hit it perfect with that post. Most of it I was planing to do but you hit several factors that I need to think on . a few years ago I found a warehouse lift in san antonio (500) miles that at the time fit my needs and budget drove after it used it a little before its battery (electric drive) crapped out not worth the price of new battery so I saved the mast ,triple ext with side shift just to make a push lift from (big joe) however current needs say motorized ,air tires. layout - dead on I have several vehicles that would suit this  mast - good point about the mast being crowded  to diff. How much clearance would you think the min. from mast base to ground should be? not going for an all terrain lift but something that will be used  in a dirt lot. Mast and tilt will be mounted to 1" plate diff also fixed to mast mount.counterwieght - concrete poured in metal shell center will be open for air intake for cooling. have a cheap concrete source steering - could go full hydro or fore/aft style with long draglinkgearing - either 4-1 reducer or maybe stacked trannyspump - have complete hyd system from a big mower I know belt drive but in stockPapaLion  that looks like it will be very handy to have around as I have gotten older I cant lift and throw the weight around like I used to so I need a yard mule 2DesertRider33 - I understand what you are saying I dont want to do this build as much as I need to do this  but I guess that we all have something that we need to do that defies all logic but that has to be done anyway. logic never stopped me beforeLast edited by dedmetal; 07-03-2010 at 06:45 PM.250DXMM251MM175225G plus 251D-1

Reply:You've already got a mast, so we can check that off....I guess I'm wondering how much you want to lift, how high, and what chassis you are considering. My name's not Jim....
