Track hoe's that is.One of this weeks projects.A (non hydraulic) thumb for a Cat 110 (25,000 lb) track hoe.I used 3/4" x 7" hot rolled flat bar, 3" x 3" x 1/4" wall tube, 1-1/2" sch 80 pipe, and 1-1/2" hot rolled solid round bar for the pins. It's 4'-0" long, 11-1/2" wide (outside to outside) and weighs about a metric s**t load.I was supposed to go put it on today, but I took too long to finish it up, so it gets installed tomorrow am.I don't see the resemblance.Brian LeonardAppalachian Ironworks L.L.C.434 Long Branch Rd, Marshall, NC 28753828 649 9966828 702 [email protected]

Reply:The scale had me confused for a bit. At first I thought those were tig welds. Then I read the post....City of L.A. Structural; Manual & Semi-Automatic;"Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place where gold is refined. Iron is taken from the earth, and copper is smelted from ore."Job 28:1,2Lincoln, Miller, Victor & ISV BibleDanny

Reply:Definatly an odd looking thumb. I'm sure theres a reason for the pin at the tooth end, but I can't imagine it right now..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan |
