..and would like some advice as to 'lengthening' the short legs and making this thing a bit more 'functional'.  It's a bit of an 'odd table' and I think it may have been used for HEAVY building supplies or something...From the bottom of th Gusset to the 'strange bent foot/feet' there is about 8 inches of 2x2" angle iron.I was thinking the best way to add length to the legs would be by sliding 2x2" or 3x3" angle iron over the existing leg about two thirds of the way up to the gusset.  I would then Drill one 5/8" hole on each side of the angle (slightly staggered) and put on a Bolt and nut.  Once finished, I would weld a couple of inches on the inside where the 2x2" meets the 3x3" angle (top and sides) and then tack the nuts to the bolts for good measure.  I would do this for ALL 4 legs and then put some locking casters on as well (bolted to 3/16" plate..)  Would this be a decent way to 'Fix' this table's short 'stature'?Also, there won't be a LOT of weight on this table and it will be used mostly for assembly, so.... no Engine Blocks and what-not.Cheers,/Jman...Miller Diversion 165120 amp Buzz BoxVictor Oxy/Ace Oxy/LPGSmith "Little" Oxy/LPGHypertherm Powermax 30Lot's of Misc. tools n' crap....
Reply:i like the nested angle but dont think id drill and bolt it. clamp it and weld it together..the drilling is unnecessary work but mainly the bolt will look silly in a weldment..my 2 cents..
Reply:you  will need to round off the outside corner of the inner piece  to get  the extension piece to nest  well  with the 2" leg and give good fitup  because the inside corner of most angle is round..
Reply:IMO I'd clamp 2" sq tube inside the angle all the way to the top of the gussets. Weld the top solid and stitch weld down the sides and solid weld the bottom.                                           MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
Reply:Good advice...I'll NIX the bolts and add extensions to the legs using 2x2" square or angle.  Will put in feet with some kind of 'leveling system'.Cheers,Miller Diversion 165120 amp Buzz BoxVictor Oxy/Ace Oxy/LPGSmith "Little" Oxy/LPGHypertherm Powermax 30Lot's of Misc. tools n' crap....

Reply:The square tube will be a good choice.  You could weld a plate to the bottom and tap a hole for a leveling foot or even a bolt with a nut to keep it in place.just a thought...Have a good day. Reply:Does a stationary workbench warrant all the hassle and cost of  adjustable feet?Just  match the leg lengths as close as practical, if it wiggles when placed, toss a chunk of plate under the low leg.Good Luck
Reply:Hi guy  I see you pick it up acrossed from a rona and do they sale snowbaer trailers at the store. the trailers are shiped out  on the frames and than are assmbiled at the store and yes there are 1/8 and they will hold up to 350lbs if you at the store  just ask the guys if they have more and you can build more work tables because most of them just end up in the scrap yard or as wood holders because it cost so much to ship them back to the shop
