Alright my buddy that I rent shop space from, well I can use his tools and one thing he has is a TIG that I'm going to have him get me started on and then I'm going to teach myself how to TIG with lots of practice. He has a 100% argon tank hooked up to it and he says he uses that for steel too. Thoughts and opinions on this? Should I switch to my 75/25 mix tank for practicing steel.
Reply:No, use the 100% argon. Basic TIG 101 says use ONLY 100% argon.DO NOT, under any circumstances, use CO2 containing mixes for TIG, regardless of material.Visit Tensaiteki.com
