Just got this non-working welder, there are no tags and the repaint covered everything.  It has a two cylinder diesel engine.  Does anyone know what brand and model this machine is?  Thanks for any info that can be offered.  Check out this link
Reply:I have no idea but Tozzi probably does.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:One side cover says 30 - 100 and 300 amp 10000 watt. I was told that the machine was welding fine and then mid way though a pass the arc went out, the engine still running good never to weld again.

Reply:MY guess is Multiquip .
Reply:Well I can't help you since I don’t have a clue of what it is, but I sure wish I lived closer to you because I would love to get it up and running. This is part of what I do for a living. Not welders exactly, but large generators and power systems which is pretty much the same thing except for how the power is regulated.
Reply:Multiquip - not familiar to me, is that model or brand?
Reply:try google

Reply:For some reason I am thinking that might be an old Airco welder/generator, but that is mainly based on the side view in the video. Here is a mention of one with a two cylinder diesel on another site:http://www.hobartwelders.com/weldtal...nerator-WelderMiller Syncrowave 350Millermatic 252/ 30A spoolgunMiller Bobcat 225g w/ 3545 spoolgunLincoln PowerArc4000Lincoln 175 Mig  Lincoln 135 Mig Everlast 250EX TigCentury ac/dc 230 amp stickVictor O/AHypertherm 1000 plasma
Reply:If it was mine I would at least try to fix it.  Besides, it ain't worth much "not" working.  And considering Multiquip, if it is that, was made for rental as well as construction, I'd say it's at least semi-indestructable and probably an easy fix.........But then again, if you don't want it, I'll split the shipping with ya Lincoln SA 200Esab Caddy 160Thermal Arc 201TSMiller Dialarc HFI don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom....
Reply:Well looks like the fun has began if I can find out what the heck this thing is. 5yrs ago I helped a friend for a day and he gave me that welder. The story he got from the past owner was that it just quit in the middle of a job and he had to just buy a new welder to keep the project on time and never got to have it checked out. I put it in sea land box and have not seen it for some time. I have a Millermatic S-42GL wirefeeder that I would like to use with it for the cc/cv my other older machines don't have. Thanks for the links - Bill.
Reply:Airco or Multiquip? The inside of the side covers are painted a kind of burnt orange, but the edges of the covers are blue - like Miller blue? The engine is Jap, no tag, but on the injection pump the tags says Kiki diesel? When to the multiquip site, sounds good on paper but so did the Edsel. Were Airco machines worth owning?
Reply:Hold the phone! Just found a picture of a Airco Super Hornet 300 - same as mine. Now does anyone know much about them?
Reply:Most of the Airco's were rebranded machines made by someone else. I found one link that suggested the Airco Super Hornet 300 was a rebranded Miller Big 40, but Millers site pulls up the latest manual, not the one for older machines so I can't really double check that..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:I have read other posts about these machines being hard to get parts for, so I'm guessing that you can't just bolt Miller parts in? Not having any s/n or codes is tough. The engine sounds hard to deal with too. Ford compact tractors and some others used the Shilbaura 2 cylinder diesel - manuals not in english? Glad I got this thing for free. I'm going to try and start it next week?
Reply:I bet it's a Libby. Military issue.
Reply:I found an Airco 300 Super Hornet thats for sale and I'm sure thats the same machine as mine.
Reply:very cool, keep us updated.I've seen Airco Super Bees, but they were not generator models (plug in).Lincoln SA 200Esab Caddy 160Thermal Arc 201TSMiller Dialarc HFI don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom....
Reply:Next step is to see if it will still run. Its been sitting for 7 or 8 years. I thought it was great when I first got it and saw that it was diesel, now after finding that its some left handed jap crap I kind of wish it was a flathead - I guess we will see next week. MANY THANKS TO ALL that helped me find out what this machine is.It may be a Generac. They used some 2 cilynder diesels in some of their machines.
Reply:Are you saying that Generac made machines for Airco/Miller?
Reply:When you do start it, mix some oil in with the diesel fuel, as the new fuel isn't good for older engines due to a lack of lubricity.   Others will say this is hog-wash, that the new fuel is fine in older engines, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.  Is there a glow plug system?Lincoln SA 200Esab Caddy 160Thermal Arc 201TSMiller Dialarc HFI don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom....
Reply:The bad news is the engine is stuck. 5 yrs ago it turned. I removed the starter and can get a small amount of movement by baring the teeth on the ring gear. I stoped so that I didn't break the rings. I removed the air intake and poured diesel fuel in and then removed the valve cover and opened the intake valves to let the fuel in. Now I'm waiting it out till the fuel seeps by the rings. The exhaust valves are stuck too. Finding a head gaskets looks to be a hard one, so if I can't get the valves freed first I'm in trouble. I have in the past used a plug in winter block heater to get things to expand and free up. To answer your question, yes it has glow plugs.

Reply:I'm fairly sure the pistons will come loose, its the valves that are worry some.
