Reply:Most duct that size doesn't need to be cross braced, unless you just like the look if it or unless the metal is very thin. Reply:here is a photo of a older mod. now they are two of those that bolt together in the middle. ( long sides)  you have to ship it in two sections. so a cover needs to be made and bolted to the sides to enclose it. and it needs to be reusable. the sheet that covers the open side needs to be a little more rigid. it will have less support. Reply:sorry insufficient data.   however, back to the cross break yes it can be done;  there are dies that can be used to stamp the metal or it is placed in a break and done by hand.   you would probably need at least two cross breaks given the size limitations of common sheet metal brakes.there is preformed sheet metal that has stiffeners in place;  maybe look at that.  a standing seam arrangment could work also.   if it's been done before why not just do it again.is that the northrop plant in LA?   i swear i've been there.
