looking for 115v TIG welder for newbie

hi all, I'm a newbie looking for a good TIG welder I can do all auto work--including making manifolds, pipe welds, aluminum welds, cromoly cage welds, etc.only requirement is that welder must be able to weld with 115v house current.I've been told to buy dynasty 200dx.  while it seems to be just the thing I need, i just thought to ask to see whether there are any cheaper, reliable alternatives.thanks!

Reply:You're better off having your house rewired.  You will not have enough amperage to fabricate heavier aluminum sections of manifolds as you're describing, i.e runners to flanges.  If you're not welding heavy aluminum sections, the 200DX will do just fine.
Reply:200 DX, but as mentioned your going to be limited on 115V. Just curious, how much welding experience do you have, honestly? Knowing this may better help us to help you.
