Hopeing to get some ideas

Hey Everyone,I have been searching for awhile and just can't find what I am looking for. Hopeing you can help. I would like to built a stand for my JD2 Model 3 bender. There are a ton a stands out there, but everyone I have been able to find bolts to the floor. I can't do that. I would like it to be moble, stable and easy to move around when needed, but able to hold a 20 stick without tipping over. Got any ideas, photos or links to something post it up. Thanks for the help.JSP

Reply:For a while we had our small bender bolted to a pallet or a sheet of plywood. The pallet would stay on the forklift to give it stability, or you parked a truck on the sheet of plywood to keep it from moving. Neither worked well, but got the job done in a pinch. Now I've got it bolted to the floor with threaded anchors. I used the type where the female threads are in the floor and you run the bolts down into it. Not lead anchors like you use for lags, but standard bolt threads. When I need the room, I can unbolt it for storage and I just run in some allan set screws to keep dirt out of the female thread inserts.That or bolt it to a heavy table..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:I don't have any pics, so I'll try to describe my friend's.  Picture a 30/60/90 triangle.  The bender is mounted towards the top of the vertical edge, and the tube is fed from the long side of the cart.  As you go down the "ramp" of the triangle, he has pegs that hold all of the dies.  4 very heavy duty casters so he can roll it.  If he wasn't 16 hours away I'd get you some pictures!

Reply:I have been using the third wheel for about 7 or 8 years now, and at this point I am not happy with the way it works, it is handy and does the job as necessary, however if you look at how it cams into place it puts the caster wheel at an angle so the wheel wants to go to that position not always making rolling around real easy, I am in the process of designing a better way to use the cam operation on the wheel to drop down 2 wheels instead of the 1.
