Light pole job.

A little job I got from one of my customers. An elderly lady thought she put her car in reverse, then hit the gas. Ended up driving over the concrete car stop, over the grass parkway into the street, uturn up the curb,  over the parkway and into the light pole.It looks like a rust crack. It actually bent the 4" x 4" x 1/4" wall tube and the 3/4" bottom plate.Finished late that night setting the new form tube and re-doing the electrical to the first joints where they both came apart. After pulling out a cylinder of concrete 20"d x 75" long.Fitting a 1" plate which my ironworker buddy just happen to have..... THE EXACT SIZE!. Reply:gah, i wish the old lady that ran over me while i was on a bicycle ran into a light pole instead.  Gave me 20 stitches and a broken tailbone.3/4" thick plate huh?  i can't even imagine it.  most of us hobby guys never see anything that thick, let alone actually welding on it.

Reply:I tried to rip one of those out of the ground with a cat 320.  notice i said TRIED.  The first several attempts were a FAIL.   i ended up having to dig around it and roll it out the hole.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
