Had to do a quick butt weld before and the wire feed was actually pulsing as if not getting good spark on and off.Could it be that it didn't have a good enough ground? That's the only thing I could think of in my minor experience.Miller 175 with .030 flux core, heat on 4, feed on 2. Steel was1/8 mild steel that used to be part of a mower deck assy. One piece of the butt was angle ground, the other was flat. I did both sides the same.

Reply:How long have you been welding with the machine? Chances are you need to replace the liners, or possibly the drag on the wire spool is too tight. Drive rolls could be slipping as well... |
