I have been searching for a better way of managing projects. I am a structural steel fabricator and erector been using note books and windows explorer file system. Until this year it has just been a PIA this year it is almost unmanageable. So I looked at eSUB it is the only one I've found that is dedicated to the sub-contractor not a modified general contractor software set. Cloud based or not I don't care. COMMENTS HELP?
Reply:88 views and not one comment? Hmmm. Is the question goofy, or is it that no one here deals with this issue?

Reply:My 2 cents. You will need to hire someone to use the project management software. Not worth the time and effort. I know guys that spend tons of money and the software sets cause they don't have time to fill out the forms. Here is my way for a hard headed sewer crew. You can change it to fit any type of project. Based on Army Operations Order. Takes a year to learn software. Attached FilesDaily Work Plan 30 August 2010.doc (32.5 KB, 37 views)

Reply:when we were busy i had a project manager that handled that, when the economy slowed down we went back to our old system of dry erase boards and job delegation. It also helps that i weeded out the less functioning members of staff and keep the best talent.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
