Reply:The best I can do. Not my plans, not a rear, not pipe:
Reply:That's not a bumper.That's a battleship with a pickup bolted to it"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:A new pasttime that found my attention is browsing through Google Images, such as....http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...+bumpers&gbv=2City of L.A. Structural; Manual & Semi-Automatic;"Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place where gold is refined. Iron is taken from the earth, and copper is smelted from ore."Job 28:1,2Lincoln, Miller, Victor & ISV BibleDanny
Reply:Heres a pic of 1 I built. I used fittings welded together to make the step. I'm a Pipefitter so it was easy to get fittings, always some extras laying around on large jobs with many rush changes, some had been scraped and some where new/unused. I used 4" C channel to mount to the frame, just buy some wedge washers so the bolts fit straight to the channel. I made mine from some scrap channel. If you need some more pics pm me and I'll email the as I'm not going to resize them all. Attached ImagesBrett B & B Fabrication and Welding Inc.Spalding, MI.
Reply:That looks like "Rhino Lining" coating on it, am I correct?
Reply:A very good looking bumper, Brett. You see a lot of the cowboys running pipe bumpers in this part of the country. Usually a straight piece of 4' pipe with a hitch welded on the bottom made out of 1/2" or 3/4' by 4' flat. They get the job done but certainly don't look like much.
Reply:Gee that front bumber looks llike it was designed for an  armored personnel carrier.Whats the ship design?Looks like a well built rear bumper but what is that finish on it?Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.&  2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.

Reply:Uh, Brett.  What's that thing weigh?A butterfly without wings, is just an ugly bug
Reply:It's not Rhino, but it is a spray on bed liner.Thank you for the comments. It weights 102 lbs heavier than the stock bumper and reese hitch. Worth it in my book.Brett B & B Fabrication and Welding Inc.Spalding, MI.
Reply:How aboutsome borrowed ideas, some new.
Reply:ok heres what weve done so far,got about 75 dollars invested, almost done, gotta reinforce the brackets for the frame and lots of grinding a few more finish pieces man is this thing getting heavy, give me your worst Attached Images
Reply:couple more pics Attached Images
Reply:I don't believe I'd wanna run into the back of that pickupYou reduced the GVW rating of the truck by 1000lbs  Must be REALLY heavy. It looks fine. The best thing is the addition of the tread plate.  At least you have a hope in Hell of standing on the bumper when it's wet out.I've always had a thing about round bumpers.  They look like a slip, fall, and a trip to the hospital.Kudos on the treadplate, and the foresight to add it"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:thanks, were still working on it,i guess it will get a little heavier be4 were through .gettin close
Reply:Looking really nice paintman.  I especially like the fact it's wide enough to protect the sides of the box as well.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:I like that bumper.  Very nice job and a good FFA project.  It will give a pickup a nice 'preload' in snow country.Charlie
Reply:he got 2nd placedid u get a pic painted on the truck? looks good though
Reply:its still at the fair, ill mount it this weekend and post one pic with it on the truck
Reply:Suppose you got it painted already, but if the paint doesn't hold up, or whatever, or for the next project.....Try this stuff.  Use the primer made by them too.  I swear by it.  Thins great with mineral spirits so it's good to paint with in not perfect environments.Made in Lincoln NE.  Dunno if it's available in your area.Best stuff since sliced bread  Lasts forever Attached Images"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:Paintman    That is one nice looking bomb proof bumper...Question to user "Miketrae"...What gauge square tubing was used in building the tire carrier.    BTW  Nice work...Welding process?
Reply:Nice job to the lad for his bumper work.  I've got an older diesel pickup that may have a copyright infringement on your design later this year.
