Is 7018 AC rod have low hydrogen properties? Thanks
Reply:Yes, it does."The man of great wealth owes a peculiar obligation to the State, because he derives special advantages from the mere existence of government." Teddy RooseveltAmerican by birth, Union by choice! Boilermakers # 60America is a Union.
Reply:Hello akpolaris, it is a low-hydrogen rod in all respects. Additionally, it has arc stabilizers/additives added to it to allow for the zero transition of current where the AC wave crosses from DC+ to DC- and back. That is the point where other E7018 electrodes tend to stick or the arc extinguishes. Best regards, Allanaevald
Reply:A couple of caveats to add to the above:1) Most 7018AC rods that I have seen do not come in hermetically-sealed containers, and should be properly dried before using for critical welds.2) Most are 7018H8 not H4, thus do not meet some code requirements. For most real-world uses, however, they are just fine.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps |
