BIg slide mechanism question

Hi all,I am designing a trailer that is 8' x 20' and needs to slide out to 16' x 20' once at its location. Any thoughts on sliding mechanisms that might work in that application. No pics yet just concepts at this point. Thanks
Reply:Basically, that's the same thing the Recreational Vehicle industry does with their "slide outs". They do it both hydraulically and electro mechanically. Reply:Lots depends on what weight the slide has to support and what the trailer has to do when slid out. A simple ball bearing pull out slide would work for a display trailer. Heavier duty channels, slides, system would be needed as the weight the slide needs to hold up goes up.
Reply:Problem is getting the floor of the trailer to be level with the slide out. Sure you could slide out a 8' section but then raising it to be level with the trailer floor is the hassle. If we knew more about the trailer application, we could brainstorm a design.
