Reply:Now thats some fab work! that is very impressive.
Reply:I admire it but I don't understand it. Real hummers are not that expensive. It would be 1/10th the work to refurbish a rough one and similar money. It's kind of like working your *** of for a Cubic Zirconium when you could have had a real Diamond for 1/10 the work and similar money. But I admire the work!
Reply:the builder must have a good assortment of sheetmetal tools and a tubing bender.  nice wok  for sure...tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/
Reply:Really nice work, but as stated above I dont really see why someone would do that when a surplus H1 can be had and refurbed for less.A few years ago I had looked into doing this pretty seriously and there was a place down in KY or LA (cant remember which) and they had a decent selection of them (10+) stripped out in running condition for 20-30k.  But as i recall the major drawback was a max speed of 55mph with whatever transmission motor combo they had.  They were all pretty much for strictly offroad use.  I remember following a guys blog in which he got one of these are rebuilt the whole thing as a slant back and was out the door counting his own labor for less that 60k.
Reply:I seem to remember that you can't buy them anymore (because of the non-highway use thing) and they have to be destroyed when selling by the USA Govt. Apparently they are  very unstable at speed and are no longer allowed into the public's hands. I looked at this a couple years ago when my buddy did some conversions and modifications on a hummer (6 wheel etc.) as well as some other cool stuff.I didn't have anything to do with this but since we have been friends for 30 years I will occasionally just drop in and see what's up. http://www.di-customcars.ca/Miller thunderbolt 250Decastar 135ERecovering tool-o-holic ESAB OAI have been interested or involved in Electrical, Fire Alarm, Auto, Marine, Welding, Electronics ETC to name a just a few. Reply:This is definetly in the why build one territory:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Humme...item35ada940d0There are still plenty out there:http://motors.shop.ebay.com/__?_from...nkw=h1&_sacat=But I have repeatedly hit my toe with a hammer before because of what I would learn from the experience! The work is admirable!
