Here's the back story... For a few years I've used a chain fall on my shop gantry. Generally speaking it's worked well. A couple of weeks ago I had a close call when lifting a 4x10 sheet of quarter inch plate. I decided it was time to distance myself a little and upgrade to an electric hoist. After some searching I found a nice Coffing 1 ton hoist on CL nearby for only $225 bucks. It was even a 240v three phase unit! Perfect. Because this was going on the mobile gantry I put a long cord on it.Today I attempted to wrap up the cord but it was too long to simply hang on the hook. I decided to build a hanger. Whipped out the shape with the plasma cutter. Put a bend in it with the brake and welded on a piece of pipe. Sure it's over built but it was scrap Now I wonder why I didn't buy and electric hoist sooner. Attached Images
